On July 14, 2006, Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, Goldman, Sachs & Co., and The Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race & Justice at Harvard Law School co-hosted the ground-breaking event entitled “The Pipeline Crisis:  Winning Strategies for Young Black Men.”  Attended by over 1,000 guests, a distinguished panel of educators and civic and business leaders, led by Harvard Law School Professor Charles J. Ogletree, Jr., discussed the social, moral, and economic implications of the widening achievement gap among blacks and whites.  In particular, the forum addressed the alarming decrease in the number of young black men entering the career pipeline for law firms, investment banks, and other professions.
